When I was in the Air Force, we often used this term, “Hurry up and wait,” and I always hated it. While doing some self-reflection, however, I realized my life has been placed on hold waiting for the right moment.
I’ve always been a person that lives for tomorrow while neglecting to enjoy today. I am always waiting to lose 10 pounds or waiting for my hair to be perfect or waiting until I feel confident. Heck, when I think about it, I am always waiting for something. I think every woman has that right moment they are waiting on, don’t they?
Part of me hopes I am not the only one, and at the same time, I hope other women are living in the present moment and making the most of every day. But the truth is most of us are waiting for something that doesn’t allow us to live life to the fullest. Such a shame we aren’t breathing.
I recently heard someone say, “Don’t have an idea of how you think things should be because it’s going to hold you back.” This quote hit home, but I can no longer live like that. Any time can be the right time so I have decided to work on being present in the moment without worrying about my ideal outcome.
I can’t afford just to exist. Life is too precious, and I want the best. Today I will be present in every moment. Will you join me?
