The other day I was spending time with a friend, who I’ve known for many years. I thought about how I have changed so much since we first met and how he was unfortunately still the same. I glanced over at him and asked myself, “Are you supposed to be here in my life?” The answer was no.
I’d known him for years, but didn’t want to end the friendship because it was “convenient and comfortable.” But, I realized that I may be blocking my blessings by keeping someone around for longer then their appointed season. What was I doing?
The bigger picture is that I was stunting my growth in the Lord by keeping people around that could wrongly influence my life. My lifestyle wouldn’t rub off on them, their poor lifestyle would rub off on me!
In conclusion, you gotta drop people out of your life that could hinder your spiritual growth…Isn’t God worth it?
Good scriptures to highlight:
Galatians 5: 7-9: You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”
