We all face challenges. Some are big, some are small, and it seems like they always pop up at the most inopportune times. We want these situations to end immediately, but that doesn’t always happen.
The enemy begins to attack us when we’re young. He tells us we are not good enough or that we aren’t worthy of good things. It’s a lie. He always hits below the belt to throw us off track, but God’s word is a promise and will accomplish everything it was sent to do.
Pew Research recently released results for its new Religious Landscape Study. The study concluded that Christianity is declining in the U.S. stating that 70.6% American adults identify themselves as Christian–a decrease from 78.4% in 2007 and reflects a loss of five million adults. In this study, organized Christianity is classified as Protestant (evangelical, mainline and historically black), Catholic, Orthodox Christian, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, and other variations.
I can’t. And though I am a songstress in my home, it is not what I am called to do. However, when I was younger I thought being a gospel singer was the best job in God’s kingdom and wanted nothing more than to kill a Lashun Pace song in front of a packed audience.
I recently came across this awesome prayer for peace of mind. In a time when everything is hectic and crazy in the world, we must know the One who is our peace. When our minds go crazy with thoughts and emotions, it’s important to sit at God’s feet and give our problems to Him. Philippians 4:7 says, And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
We all have “busy” lives and distractions everywhere we turn. Something always comes along and demands our time and the next thing we know, the day is over! We did everything that was mildly important but neglected the one thing that is most important–spending our much needed time with God!
My pastor recently said fear is the enemy’s number one weapon and is like an atomic bomb, designed to wipe out everything…WOW! Seems pretty powerful. Fortunately for us, everything, including fear, was already conquered at the cross through the crucifixion of Christ. We just have to activate our faith and there’s no better time than right now!
The Awakening Times posted a great article about actor Keanu Reeves and how he’s overcome so much adversity but still remains positive and humble. It really goes to show that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle.
