But seriously, quality connections are everything

So yesterday I had my monthly meeting with my girl Zoe of GoneGirlGo (quality connection). We have such a great time together! I mean, we discuss our goals, ideas, frustrations and more and there’s no jealously or hate–just two people trying to grow and succeed. It’s beautiful to have a genuine connection that isn’t a closet hater LOL.

But seriously, quality connections are everything and can only help you reach your goals. Unfortunately, many women are so competitive that we congratulate our friends and acquaintances but do so with ill intentions. I’ve even felt this way a time or two in my life. Jeremiah 17:9 says, The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

One thing I always try to remember is what’s for you is for you, and what’s for me is for me. My purpose may keep me local, and your purpose may take you internationally, but that doesn’t mean we can’t grow together, and that definitely doesn’t make us competition!

If you struggle with this, try to keep these points in mind:
1) We are not competition–we are sisters to grow together
2) Even if your purpose is similar, there is still a place for both of us to flourish
3) Help and embrace other women with good intentions

Zig Ziglar once said, “You are the only person on earth who can use your ability. It’s an awesome responsibility.”

Who are your quality connections that will help you reach your awesome responsibility?

  1. I really enjoy our time together and I’m so glad that you consider me a quality connection! I’ve said that it’s so important for us to have relationships with others who can move us to action and hold us accountable! You’ve definitely become that for me and I thank you dearly! And thanks for the mention!!! I was so pleasantly surprised!

  2. Nic, these are some great truths about this topic. Romans 12:6 has always been an encouragement to me, too. Lovingly, mom A.

  3. This is such a great reminder of how important it is to encourage one another to grow as sisters. Well written. Thanks!
