What’s In Season for January 2021

What's In Season January 2021

Everything’s better when you buy, eat, and enjoy what’s in season. Here’s the in-season flowers, fruits, and vegetables you should be buying this month, plus my January 2021 essential oil pick.

First, let me say there are tons of flowers to choose from this month. For my peace of mind, I’ve narrowed them down to the ones I find the most beautiful.

Calla Assorted – Calla Lillies will undoubtedly grab your attention and boost your mood with beautiful blooms. They come in many colors, including cream, lavender, pink, red, white, and yellow.
Carnations – Commonly found in pink, carnations have fringed petals and a spicy scent.
Dahlias – These annuals are great in a floral bouquet and boast blowsy blooms.
Gerberas – With daisy-like flowers, Gerberas come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Lillium Casablanca – Casablanca Lillies are fragrant and pure white flowers with taller than average blooms.
Snowdrops – These plants have bell-shaped flowers that sag and, in my opinion, are eye-catching and cute.

Is health your number one focus for 2021? If so, you’re in luck. You can eat them raw or mix them in a smoothie or juice. Enjoy grapefruits, lemons, oranges, papayas, and tangerines this month.

What do broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and leeks have in common? They’re all good for you! Now I know you may be thinking, “What do I do with leeks?” Well, since they have a mild, onion-like taste, they are ideal in a vegetable stir fry, a soup, or a stock.

My January 2021 Essential Oil
With a nice spicy, earthy, and sweet mix, Frankincense Essential Oil is my January EO pick. It is known to reduce anxiety, inflammation, pain, and stress. Frankincense Essential Oil can also boost immunity and fight certain illnesses.

I like to enjoy Frankincense in an oil burner with a carrier oil. The smell will last for days.
